Journey Companions conduct training for Novaliches Vicariate

The graduates of the Ninoy & Cory Aquino Leadership Journey (NCALJ) program, or the Journey Companions as they are called, facilitated the first run of the leadership training seminar entitled “I Lead. I Love” last April 20, 2013 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Caloocan City.

50 youth leaders coming from different parishes of the Diocese of Novaliches participated in the said event. The main objective of the training-seminar is to let the youth leaders reflect on the foundation of their service.

Alloy Peralta, the head of the Diocese’s youth ministry and also Batch 2 graduate of the NCALJ program, shares why he would like his Vicariate undergo the training-seminar: “’Yung mga naranasan ko sa NCA Leadership Journey ay gusto ko ring iparanas sa kanila dahil alam kong makakatulong din ito sa kanila, para lalo nilang makilala ang sarili nila, ang Panginoon nila at kung paano sa tingin ko maging tunay na lider sa ating bayan— isang lider na nagmamahal” (I also want them to experience what I have been through in the NCA Leadership Journey because I know that these experiences would help them in order for them to know themselves better, know their God and to be a true leader of this nation — a loving leader).

As a take-away from the traning-seminar, Adrian Lazo, one of the participants from the Mary Mother of the Church Parish, says that he learned what it is to be a good leader. The training-seminar also reaffirmed to him the true love given by God as manifested in his capacity to lead his parish. Adrian hopes that each parish in their Diocese will undergo the said leadership training-seminar because he wants them to be inspired the way the event did to him.
