Cebu Air, Inc. (Cebu Pacific), the Official Air Carrier of the Ninoy & Cory Aquino Leadership Journey 2012, welcomed six Filipino student-leaders from Visayas and Mindanao at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 last June 7, 2012.
Harvey Falcasantos and Al-Ghabid Jamil of Ateneo de Zamboanga, Charisse Salcedo of Stella Maris College-Oroquieta City (Misamis Occidental), Ritchie Talisay of the Cebu Institute of Technology University, Daren Ril Valenzuela of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Iloilo, and Princess Ubay-ubay of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan were granted round-trip tickets by Cebu Pacific. The young leaders are among 28 participants in the 6th run of the Ninoy & Cory Aquino Leadership Journey held last June 8-10, 2012 at the St. Paul de Chartres Vigil House, Taytay, Rizal.
The Ninoy & Cory Aquino Leadership Journey, touted as one of the more transformative programs for the youth in the country, is a partnership among the Ninoy & Cory Center for Leadership (NCACL), the Ninoy & Cory Aquino Foundation (NCAF), and the Ang-Hortaleza Foundation.
The program draws insights from the lives of the beloved Aquino couple, and seeks to reintroduce spirituality as a major foundation for Filipino leadership. Harnessing their innate values systems, the participants take part in a process of self-reflection which, it is hope, would ultimately lead to commitment for others and country.
Cebu Air, Inc. (Cebu Pacific), the Philippines’ largest national flag carrier, has been the Official Air Carrier of the program since 2011. This year, Cebu Air, Inc. has committed to allot twenty-five round-trip ticket with assured seating (to and from Manila) for Journey participants from provinces in the Visayas, Mindanao and other remote islands in the Philippines.
“What makes this partnership ideal is that the Cebu Pacific brand has this distinct youthful appeal that blends well with the goal of the program—to mold committed and transformative young Filipinos,” explained Ruben V. Tangco, NCAF Managing Director.
THE NINOY & CORY AQUINO CENTER FOR LEADERSHIP
The Ninoy and Cory Aquino Center for Leadership is an institution established with the help of Drs. Rolando and Rosalinda Hortaleza of Splash Corporation. NCACL seeks to identify, form, nurture and recognize individuals who, through a process of self-transformation, can develop into a community of empowering, world-class leaders.
NINOY & CORY AQUINO FOUNDATION
The Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation traces its roots to the Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. Foundation (BSAF), established by the late Senator’s widow in November 1983 to perpetuate his legacy. BSAF became her vehicle for continuing to engage non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and people’s organizations (POs) that played a key role in empowering communities and reviving democratic institutions alongside her administration.
