Last April 2012, the Ninoy & Cory Aquino Center for Leadership (NCACL), in partnership with Hapag-Asa Feeding Program, held leadership trainings for youth volunteers in preparation for Hapag-Asa’s Summer Feed Break 2012. The workshops were facilitated by Marvin Sipin and Mika Millar of NCACL.
The first workshop was conducted in St. Peter Parish, Novaliches, Quezon City. Thiry-one high school and college volunteers from the Diocese of Novaliches participated in the whole day event. The second workshop was held for twenty-five enthusiastic high school students from the Don Antonio De Zuzuarregui Sr. Memorial Academy (DAZSMA) in Antipolo City.
These modern-day heroes were treated to a fun and insightful day filled with various activities that highlighted essential values on leadership and service.
“We are continuously exploring various avenues to engage young Filipinos in a deeper level,” said Millar. “Through our leadership workshops, we hope to encourage young Filipinos to surface the selfless hero inside them and empower marginalized fellow Filipinos by participating in volunteer activities such as the Hapag-Asa Feeding Program.”
The Ninoy & Cory Aquino Center for Leadership is open to conduct school- and community-based leadership workshops. For more information, you may contact the NCACL Secretariat at +632 892-5360 or visit http://www.ncaleadershipjourney.wordpress.com.
