The Hapag-Asa Integrated Feeding Program, in partnership with the Ninoy & Cory Aquino Foundation, conducted a Leadership Training and Orientation for the volunteers of the Diocese of Novaliches and Kalookan last April 10 and 12 respectively. The two separate activities were attended by 15-20 parish youth volunteers who also participated in the Summer Feeding Program of Hapag-Asa set on April 15-19 in their respective dioceses.
Volunteers for the Summer Feeding Program undergo the Leadership Training and Orientation to equip them with enough knowledge before they are deployed to their assigned areas. One of the participants from Novaliches cites his pabaon from the training: “[I learned] how to be a volunteer not as a requirement. I learned that being a volunteer is about serving and sharing.” Another volunteer from the Diocese of Kalookan shares, “Pwedeng kahit wala ka sa position, kaya mo maging lider” (Even if you do not have any position, you can be a leader).
A processing session activity happened last April 24 with the same group of young leaders for the evaluation and assessment of their experience during the 5-day feeding program.
